Responding to an Image Request

As part of our efforts to help our members market their work, we offer a unique service to photo buyers on the PhotoPortfolios.net website – the image request service.

The image request service allows photo buyers to mass email all of our members and subscribers with a request for photos. Note - On your “edit preferences” page (Manage Portfolio > Edit Your Preferences), you can opt out of these emails if you do not wish to receive them.

An image request email will contain the contact information of the person making the request, and (hopefully) an adequate description of what they are looking for. Be sure to send your response to the person and email indicated on the image request.

Here are a few tips for replying to an image request;

• If it is not clear what kind of photo the buyer is looking for, simply respond with a request for additional information
• If you have photos that you believe fit the request, respond to the buyer via email and ask them how they would like the photos submitted
• Before submitting anything other than low-res JPEGs via email, be sure you have the full contact information of the buyer, including their name, the agency they represent and a telephone number they can be reached at
